It is the active process of being aware of your health and making choices that make a positive impact on your well-being. Wellness is more than just being free from illness rather, a process of change and growth.

How can I Manage My Wellness?

Self-care is looking after our own well-being and ensuring that you check in with what your needs are. This looks different for everybody depending on the area you may feel less well in. Below are some example of how you can practice self-care however, each person can look after their well being in many other ways.

  1. Create a budget for yourself for the week, month, year, etc. Also in your budget plan on the amount of money, you are going to save.

  2. Join the on-campus gym (€60 for the entire year) and make a plan as to how many days and on what days you plan to use the gym. If you have never been to the gym, ask one of the staff for help with starting!

  3. Prepare meals for the week or try packing your lunch the night before.

  4. Plan an activity to do with friends. Maybe this is inviting them over for dinner and board games, or this is going out for an hour or two.

  5. Learn a new skill or take something you already know to the next level.

  6. Write a plan as to where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years and what steps you have to take in order to reach your goals.

  7. Go for a hike in the great outdoors.

  8. Write down your values on a sheet of paper and think about how you live by your values on a daily basis.

  9. Treat yourself to a spa day, pedicure, or even do a spa day at home!

  10. Enjoy a picnic in a park or go to a nature conservatory to enjoy some time.

During the year, your Vice President of Welfare & Equality will be organising campaigns on wellness and ways to help engage in self-care activities.
